"I was always taught to believe homosexuality was wrong because of what the Bible says.
I'll be honest: because it doesn't affect me, I haven't looked closely at how some Scriptures have been interpreted the way they have. Whether you are gay or not, I'm still obligated to love you as myself because Jesus commanded me to. I can't deny you a secular marriage, because I won't deny it for people who don't share my faith, so why would I deny it to just you? I won't say "Gay Lifestyle" because that makes me see you as living a life without God. I won't use words to demean you, because it's not Christ-like for me to speak to you in this unbiblical manner; again, that's not loving you as myself. God didn't put me on His Throne to judge. I can't love you fully if I judge you partially; this is not the unconditional love God called me to have. The truth is, the Church has hurt homosexuals it should repent of. I know I don't have these strong feelings for someone who is divorced that my Biblical God would not be happy with, so maybe I do have a prejudice only against you that I'm not seeing within myself.
I want to be like my Savior more and more each day, and that can only happen if I repent of how I've been with this, and love you as the neighbor I am called to love. If anything or anyone makes me love you less or not at all, I will not accept it or them into my heart."
